Using a hollow core biopsy needle, tissue is removed from a lump or suspicious area in a small cylinder, or core, of tissue without incision. This core biopsy needle also has a special cutting edge to get through tissue. Our Gallini Coaxial biopsy needle guide will help remove a small but solid tissue sample using a hollow "core" needle in the doctor's office or clinic. The needle used during core needle biopsy is larger than the needle used with FNA. Use either of these guides with a 14 Gauge core biopsy needle.
